The garden planner, free

A planting plan for your own garden in minutes

Answer a few plain questions about your garden and the wildlife you hope for. You get the plants to buy, where each goes and what it brings.

Nothing personal is asked. Your plan is kept anonymously under a private link for 12 months, then deleted.

How the planner chooses your plants

It starts with your conditions: where you are, the space, the sun, the soil and how wet it gets. From the plants that suit, it picks those that feed or shelter the wildlife you chose, then sets them in layers and adds water. No AI: just fixed rules over named public plant data.

Once you have your plan

  1. Take the shopping list to a nursery, and ask for each plant by both its names so you get the right one.
  2. In Brisbane, claim free native plants from the council each financial year; other councils may offer their own.
  3. Plant in mild weather rather than in a heatwave or a long dry spell, starting with the bigger plants.
  4. Water each plant in well on the day, keep the soil damp while it settles, and reopen your plan by its link.
